| In order to facilitate your treatment, the following suggestions should be followed: |
| 1. | Dress comfortably. A two-piece, loose fitting, outfit is recommended. For additional comfort you may wish to wear socks and bring a sweater. We will provide a sanitary pad. |
| 2. | The fee is to be paid in full on the day of the procedure. Personal checks cannot be accepted. Money orders and certified checks should be made out to the Center. Credit and debit cards are accepted. We will be happy to help you with insurance forms and reimburse you if payment is made to us. |
| 3. | Do not eat or drink for 4 hours prior to your appointment. Juice, soft drinks, etc. are provided after the procedure. |
| 4. | Although it is not absolutely necessary, we suggest that you be accompanied be one friend or relative or at least make arrangements for transportation home in advance. In consideration of others, please do not
bring children with you when you come to the Center. |
Upon your arrival, a counselor will be assigned to you. She will help you
with your medical history as well as answer all your questions regarding
the procedure, the alternatives to abortion and the various means of
contraception, etc. Feel free to confide in her. All information is held
strictly confidential.
After counseling and laboratory tests, you will be examined by your
physician and the procedure will be performed. After rest, refreshment and
observation you will be provided post-operative instructions, a follow-up
appointment at the Center and then you will be discharged to return home.
If you so request, a copy of your records will be sent to your private
physician. Although the procedure takes only 5 to 10 minutes, plan a total
stay of about 2 to 3 hours. The extra time is essential in order to
guarantee proper counseling and post-operative observation.
Your physical well-being comes first and we will not compromise it for the
convenience of a shorter stay. Please feel free to call if you have any
further questions you would like to discuss.
